33rd Early Music Days 2017

It was a long time ago, how was it like? The Early Music movement, which aimed at performing the musical works of the past century in an authentic way, was one of the most significant ones after World War II in European musical history. The purpose of composers, historians of music, musicians, singers, conductors and other professionals was to perform the works of composers from previous centuries in an authentic way, as they originally wished to. The movement first appeared in The Netherlands and in England, but soon it became popular in Hungary, as well. It is not without reason that the Early Music Days in Vác is one of the most renowned events not only in Hungary, but it is also considered as the most significant musical event of its kind worldwide. Malcolm Bilson, Nancy Argenta and the Kujiken family are just a few of those to name, who return with joy to give concerts and teach masterclasses.

24 June – 1 July 2017  Organised by the Filharmónia Magyarország Nonprofit Kft. the 32nd Early Music Days series of events will take place between 24 June and 1 July in Vác.
