Réka Nagy, as a student of György Déri at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, earned degrees in both cello performance and music education. She studied viola da gamba with Sándor Szászvárosi at the Ward Mária Secondary School of Music.
From autumn 2021, she continued her studies in Vittorio Ghielmi's viola da gamba class at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. From autumn 2023, she started her baroque cello studies in Marco Testori's class. Through masterclasses, she had the opportunity to learn from teachers such as Lucile Boulanger, Bruno Cocset, Lúcia Krommer, Balázs Máté, and Christoph Urbanetz.
She taught cello at the Összahang Music School, and later at the Zoltán Kodály School of Music. On two occasions she taught viola da gamba and baroque chamber music at the Crescendo Summer Academy. In the summer of 2023 she held a basso continuo masterclass at the Vác Early Music Days.
Her goal is to introduce and promote the colorful repertoire of early music and viola da gamba both in concert life and in the field of education.
For years, she has been the solo viola da gamba and continuo player in the Orfeo Orchestra in Budapest. In Salzburg, she is a regular performer at the concerts of Capella dell'Halla and Bach Werk Vocal ensembles.
