Masterclass: Basso Continuo masterclass (viola da gamba, cello)
Réka Nagy

Réka Nagy is a Hungarian viola da gamba and baroque cello performer who holds degrees in viola da gamba from Mozarteum University Salzburg under the guidance of Vittorio Ghielmi, and in cello performance and music education from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where she studied with György Déri. 

Her early music studies began at the Miszla Baroque Academy in 2012, later she studied viola da gamba with Sándor Szászvárosi at the Ward Mária Secondary School of Music.

Throughout her education, Réka has participated in masterclasses with distinguished teachers such as Lucile Boulanger, Balázs Máté, Christoph Urbanetz, Enrico Onofri, Monika Toth, Violaine Cochard, François Lazarevitch, and Benoît Dratwicki.

She is currently continuing her studies at Mozarteum University Salzburg under the mentorship of Vittorio Ghielmi and Marco Testori.

As a soloist, she has performed with the Orfeo Orchestra (Hungary), the Savaria Baroque Orchestra, and the Mozarteum Baroque Orchestra. For several years, she has been the solo viola da gamba and continuo player with the Orfeo Orchestra. She has collaborated with various early music ensembles across Europe, including Capella dell'Halla, the Bach Werk Vokal Ensemble, Collegium Marianum, the Budapest Bach Consort, Custos Consort, and Bacchus Consort.

Réka has taught viola da gamba and baroque chamber music at the Crescendo Summer Academy on two occasions. Since the summer of 2023, she has been the teacher of the basso continuo for strings masterclass at the Early Music Days in Vác.
