Gioachino Antonio Rossini, Italian composer was born in 1792, on 29th February. He fervently admired the Viennese classics, and followed in the musical footsteps of Mozart and Haydn. The „Italian Mozart” composed 39 operas as well as church and chamber music and introduced the bel canto singing style. Rossini was one of the most influential composeres of his time, his best-known operas include, The Barber of Seville and La Cenerentola.
