Barbare Tataradze, born in 2003 in Tbilisi, Georgia, began playing the piano at the age of five. From an early age, she demonstrated remarkable musical talent, quickly establishing herself as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation.
She has performed in numerous concerts organized by the SOS Talents Foundation and appeared in prestigious venues worldwide, including the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, the United Nations Hall in Geneva, Hôtel Marcel Dassault in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Théâtre du Jeu de Paume in Aix-en-Provence, and Casino Bern. As a soloist, Barbare has collaborated with several distinguished orchestras, including the Georgian Sinfonietta under the direction of Daniele Belardinelli, the Symphonic Orchestra of Kaunas (Lithuania), and the Mariinsky Orchestra at the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
Her performances have been broadcast by Mezzo TV, Radio Classique, and Medici TV. Barbare has received numerous awards in international competitions. She was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Frederic Chopin Competition in Tbilisi (2010) and won First Prize at the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in the Netherlands (2015). In 2017, she received Second Prize and was named Laureate at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Weimar, Germany. In 2018, she won the Grand Prix, along with special prizes for Best Artistry and Best Performance of a Virtuoso Work, at the T. Akhobadze International Piano Competition in Tbilisi. She has also been recognized at international academies and festivals. In 2017 and 2019, she participated in the International Piano Academy Eppan, where she studied with Andrea Bonatta and received the First Special Prize twice. In 2019, she participated in the Goslar Piano Academy and had masterclasses with Prof. Arie Vardi.
The same year she won First Prize at the “Stars at the Rhine” Concerto Competition in Basel, Switzerland, where she later gave a highly successful solo recital. In 2021, she was awarded Second Prize and the prize for Best Virtuoso Performance at the Nordic Junior Piano Competition (online edition) in Norway. In recent years, Barbare has continued to refine her artistry through participation in major festivals and masterclasses. In 2022, she took part in the Tsinandali Festival. During 2023– 2024, she participated in the Lieven Foundation Piano Festival, performing in masterclasses and concerts at the Steinway & Sons Showroom in Vienna. During this time, she studied with renowned pianist Lilya Zilberstein at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW).
In 2024, she performed with celebrated Czech violinist Václav Hudeček and the Youth Orchestra of the Prague Conservatory at an international music festival in Prague. The same year, she performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 at the Batumi Black Sea Music and Art Festival and at the Grand Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. In September 2024, she participated in masterclasses with the distinguished pianist Eliso Virsaladze at the Telavi International Music Festival.
In 2025 she became one of the two finalists at the French Riviera Masters competition in Nice, France and performed at the Grand hall of Opera with the Nice symphonic orchestra. Barbare Tataradze is currently studying at the V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire with Professor Lali Sanikidze, while also continuing her studies at the Conservatoire Rachmaninoff in Paris with Professor Rena Shereshevskaya. She is celebrated for her captivating stage presence, refined musicality, and remarkable technical ease.
