Attila Szaniszló (b. 2005, Karcag, Hungary) spent his childhood in Cristuru Secuiesc (Székelykeresztúr, Romania), where his exceptional musical talent became evident at an early age: at five, he was already exploring melodies on a toy piano. He began his formal musical studies with Margit Simó and later continued under Judit Lakó in Târgu Mureș (Marosvásárhely), who played a decisive role in his early artistic development. In 2019, at the age of thirteen, he was admitted to the Special School for Exceptional Young Talents of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where he studied with Gábor Eckhardt and Imre Hargitai. Since 2024, he has been pursuing his undergraduate studies at the Academy’s Piano Department under Professors Kálmán Dráfi and Gábor Farkas. His artistic development has also been shaped by participation in international masterclasses, including the Cziffra Festival Master Academy, where he worked with distinguished pedagogues such as Yoheved Kaplinsky and William Grant Naboré.
Attila is a laureate of numerous prestigious competitions. His achievements include the Grand Gold Prize and First Prize at the Franz Liszt International Youth Piano Competition (2024), the Absolute First Prize at the Oltregiogo Piano Competition in Italy (2022), Second Prize at the IV Danubia Talents Liszt International Competition in Rome (2022), as well as the Grand Prize and Special Artist Award at the Rezonanțe Sonore Inline Competition (2021). His notable distinctions also include the Zoltán Kocsis Special Prize (2022), the Pro Cultura Award of Cristuru Secuiesc (2021), and the Commemorative Medal of Harghita County (2021). In 2025, he was awarded the Junior Prima Award in Music, one of Hungary’s most prestigious honors for young artists, and received the Petneházy Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding talent and artistic achievements. As a soloist, Attila has performed extensively in Hungary and abroad, appearing at prestigious venues such as the Grand Hall and Solti Hall of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, the Ars Sacra Festival, and numerous international festivals and concert series.
He is currently preparing for the Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition, to be held in Budapest in 2026, which he considers a major milestone in his artistic journey. Through his performances, he aims to convey the profound power of music to inspire and unite audiences across cultures and continents.
