Johannes Marsovszky was born in 1994 in Munich. In 2000 he went to a French-German bilingual elementary and secondary school before starting his piano and violin studies at the Pestalozzi music high school he graduated from in 2009. At that time he also started having vocal trainings with Alison Hagley.

Since 2006 he has contributed to several drama and opera performances of the Gärtnerplatztheater München (Bizet: Carmen, Humperdinck: Hansel and Gretel, Puccini: La Boheme). Additionally, he sang in the children’s choir of the theatre. He performed in the Damnation of Faust by Berlioz with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchesra and choir at the Munich Philharmonic Concert Hall.

In the 2007 season Johannes Marsovszky took part in Frank Martin Widmaier’s Magic Flute-adaptation that was also performed at the Mannheim Festival. Marsovszky sang the part of the First Boy.

In 2009 he was accepted to the Piano and the Music Theory Department of the Bartók Béla Conservatory Budapest. 

In February of 2014 as an apprentice assistant director of the Luebeck Theatre he contributed to the production of Idomeneo by Mozart.

In 2013 he was accepted to the Orchestral and Choral Conducting Departments of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Budapest where he obtained his BA degree in 2016.

Since September of 2016 he has pursued his studies as an MA student at the Conducting Department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.

In 2014 as a participant of conductors’ Study Tour he was invited to the EUROPA CANTAT Junior International Choir Festival, histed in Bergen, Norway.

In 2015 Johannes took part in the Händel and Mozart mastercourses of György Vashegyi. In June of 2016 he worked as an assistant of Gergely Madaras at the Savaria Symphony Orchestra Szombathely.

At the National Competition of Young Conductors, commemorating Rezső Lantos and hosted by Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Johannes Marsovszky won 1st Prize in 2015 and 2nd Prize in 2016.
