In  2008    he    studied    conducting    in    Florence    with    Piero    Bellugi.    From    2009    to    2016    he    studied    conducting       in     Vienna,     where     he     obtained     his    Bachelor’s     and   Master’s   degree   with   honours   at    both     the   Conservatory   (Prof.   Georg   Mark)   and    the     University   for   Music   and   Applied   Arts   (Prof.  Johannes Wildner).    On    recommendation    by    Mariss    Jansons    he    also    takes    conducting    lessons    from Sophie    Rachlin.    

During  his    studies,    he    sang    in    the    renowned    Wiener    Singverein    choir    and    also    assisted    its     music   director   Johannes Prinz     in   numerous   projects   including   tours   to   Russia     and   Japan    with       works     by     Mozart,     Beethoven,     Schubert     and     Honegger     as     well     as     performances     of    Gustav     Mahler’s   2nd   and   8th   symphonies   for   the   Salzburg   Festivals   in   2012   and   2013.   As    assistant     to     Guido     Mancusi     he     worked     as     a   répétiteur     and     conducted   performances     of    Johann    Strauss’ Die     Fledermaus  and     Mozart’s  Così     fan   tutte   and  Le     Nozze   di   Figaro  in     the    Schönbrunn         Palace       Theatre       and       in       Schaffhausen,       Switzerland.       He       also       assisted       Ingo    Metzmacher     for   performances   of   Wagner‘s  Das     Rheingold  and    Die     Walküre   at   the   Geneva    Opera.    

From         2014         until         2016,       Károlyi         held         the         position         as         Music         Director         of         the    Akademisches       Symphonie     Orchester     Wien     (ASO     Wien),     a   youth     orchestra     active     in     the    viennese     musical   life.   He   also   conducted   the   Vienna     Radio   Symphony   Orchestra,  the   Slovak    Philharmonic               Orchestra,             the             Orquesta             de             Cordoba,             the             Proarte             Orchester,             the    kons.sinfonie.orchester,    the    Philharmonic    Orchestra    Györ,    the    Schönbrunn    Orchestra    Vienna    and    the    Wiener    Singverein.    Furthermore    he    has    conducted    the    world    premiere    of    a    piece    by    Johannes     Berauer   with   members   of   the   Vienna     Philharmonic   Orchestra     in   the   Musikverein.    Future       projects     also     include     an     assistantship     at   the     Orchestre     de     Dijon-­‐Bourgogne     in    February    and    his    comeback    to    the    Collegium    Musicum    in    Pommersfelden,    Germany.
