“Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen!” – Bach’s iconic cantata, in which the dialogue between a single soprano voice and a trumpet fills the space with celebration and exaltation.
In the 70th anniversary season of Filharmónia Magyarország in Pécs, following the overwhelming success of The Csárdás Princess, whose performances sold out within days, we present another outstanding production this March.
The soloist of the evening is American soprano Robin Johannsen, one of today’s most highly regarded interpreters of Baroque vocal music. She has appeared on the stages of the Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and the Salzburg Festival. A regular guest of the world’s leading period-instrument ensembles, she is widely acclaimed for her interpretations of Bach, Handel, and early Baroque repertoire. Her artistry is defined by crystal-clear technique, exceptional flexibility, and profound musical sensitivity.
With the participation of the Orfeo Orchestra and the Purcell Choir, works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Francesco Bartolomeo Conti will be performed.
