Student and teacher, Prokofiev and Rimszkij-Korsakov are performed in the course of one concert. Prokofiev was also an excellent chess player, who, in addition to his musical talent, declared that if he did not succeed in music, he would choose chess as his profession. Nikolai-Korsakov who was said to have talked back to the Tsar upon their first meeting, at his father's request, trained as a naval officer and spent two and a half years at sea. His experience at sea inspired his later works, which boast exotic subjects and highly original orchestration. Come and listen to the works of the two composers on 24 February in Debrecen, where the world-renowned violinist Arabella Steinbacher will perform as a soloist. The conductor of the evening is Dimitry Liss, who has performed with some of Russia's most prominent artists and is one of the most authentic interpreters of his country's national repertoire.
